Partnership Between Marvel & USGA To Feature Avengers Superheroes As Great Golfers!

Are you an avid golfer and a fan of the Marvel comics? Then you will be happy to learn that your favorite Marvel characters will be playing your favorite sport soon. The United States Golf Association (USGA) recently announced its partnership with Marvel Entertainment.
The tie-up will create exclusive golf materials to teach junior golfers about the rules and regulations of the game.

The collaboration will produce both digital and print comic books. The comics will show the Avengers teaching the rules of golf and the values you can develop from the game. It’s expected that the tie-up will be very successful due to the immense popularity of characters such as Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and Captain America. The comic books will educate young golfers and attract new players. The CEO of USGA, Mike Davis, expressed his excitement to present the game of golf to youngsters in a unique way. Davis said, “Utilizing the power of the Marvel Universe will help us introduce the game to potential new golfers while also giving our existing players a fun new way to learn.”

Marvel Entertainment is equally happy with this partnership. Michael Pasciullo, SVP of Marketing and Communications, shared that they are thrilled to use their iconic heroes in storytelling. Specifically, in a way that will inspire the next batch of golfers.

The special comic book is set to make its first appearance at the 2019 U.S. Open Championship which will be held at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California this June. Those attending the Junior Experience game of the U.S. Open will receive limited edition Marvel-themed golf posters. After the launch, the comic books will be available for purchase online at usga.org/publications.

The USGA has always been active in investing in projects and creating unique tools to promote the game of golf. For example, its latest collaboration with Marvel Entertainment will replace the 30-year-old Peanuts/Snoopy Rules book. Along with the comic books, the USGA will also soon release a supplemental guide to aid golf instructors in training students in junior golf programs. These supplemental guide books explain the rules of golf and etiquette in an easy to understand manner.
